Intelligent Transport Systems is now about 30 years old. Elements were developed earlier than this. Those pioneers who had been at the forefront in forging the way through technical, bureaucratic and strategic challenges are now retiring.
The Intelligent Transport Oral History Project focuses on gathering experiences and anecdotes about how we have achieved the ITS infrastructure we have today.
The project uses guidelines developed by the UK Oral History Society and the British Library.
We are recruiting participants for Phase 2. We want both interviewers to undertake the oral history recordings. You will receive training and equipment.
Sign up for a free-to-download outline guide to the project here. This is your chance to become part of an archive that we anticipate historians and researchers will be using in years to come.
